District Nurses
Our district nursing team, headed by Shona Middleton and Lorna Coull, provide skilled traditional nursing care in the home for those patients unable to travel to the surgery.
They offer advice and support to carers and their families. In addition they can take blood samples, carry out continence assessments, and arrange for the provision of certain aids and appliances.

Health Visitors
Health visitors Pamela Dempster, Ann Cameron, Clare Wishart are based at Parkview Primary Care Centre (Carnoustie), with a satellite clinic here at the practice. They work alongside the doctors and nurses with special responsibility for health promotion, particularly in children.
Our health visitors also offer special help in adults and children’s sleep problems, weight problems, anxiety management, and smoke cessation services. They can also help with trained counselling services, and information and advice relating to care in the community.

Podiatry Services
Podiatry is available by appointment to people with a foot related problem who meet eligibility criteria. These include:
- Rheumatology/Connective Tissue Disease
- Severe Peripheral Arterial Disease
- Diabetes Mellitus with a Moderate/High Risk foot score
- HAn open wound or infection on the foot.
- History of foot ulceration
- Chronic Degenerative Neurological Disease – for example Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsonism, Motor Neurone Disease
- Children (Pre-school to Secondary)
- Anyone requiring the surgical removal of a toenail.
- Musculoskeletal problems – for example Plantar Fasciitis
Podiatry does not provide a personal nail cutting service.
Referral can be made by your GP or nurse or by completing the self-referral form. Note that self-referrals will only be accepted if the person requesting assistance has the capacity to self-refer, or it is being made on behalf of a child. In all other circumstances, a separate referral must be made by a healthcare professional.

Other Services
We constantly strive to improve the range and quality available to our patients. In addition to those provided by the practice team, other clinics provided within the health centre currently include speech therapy, antenatal, child psychology, and adult psychology and counselling though this list is subject to revision periodically.
